Osprey Pulse Browser Extension: Data Quality in PI Vision and Browser

Osprey Pulse provides real-time data quality and trust indicators for PI Vision users, available as both a PI Vision extension and a browser extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge. This helps operators and engineers make informed decisions based on the health of their data streams.

Features

  • Real-time data quality status for PI Vision displays
  • Browser extension so a native PI Vision symbol does not need to be added to each display
  • Direct links to Osprey for reporting issues or viewing asset information

Osprey Pulse for PI Vision

See Osprey Pulse for PI Vision for details on embedding the badge directly in PI Vision displays as a native extension.

Osprey Pulse Browser Extension

The Osprey Pulse Browser Extension brings data quality indicators to PI Vision without requiring server-side installation. It supports both Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

How It Works

  • The extension automatically detects PI Vision pages and overlays the Osprey Pulse Badge on supported displays.
  • It fetches live data quality and issue status from your Osprey instance.
  • Users can click the badge or the extension icon to view detailed data stream health, report issues, or navigate to Osprey for more information.

Benefits

  • No server install required: Works instantly for any user with the extension.
  • Supports Chrome and Edge: Standard extension install from /downloads.
  • Consistent experience: Same trust signals as the native PI Vision extension.
  • Quick access: Click the badge or extension icon for instant data quality insights and reporting.

IT Deployment (Production, at scale)
