Email Workflows
Overview
Email workflows in Tycho Data Osprey allow you to notify team members or external recipients when data quality issues occur. These alerts can include detailed context about failing checks, affected assets, and timestamps, making it easy to stay informed and take action directly from your inbox.
Use email workflows to notify:

Data engineers about sensor issues

Operators about abnormal process conditions
-
Domain owners about missed SLA thresholds
-
Distribution lists for broader visibility
Creating an Email Workflow
To create a new workflow that sends notifications via email:

Go to Settings > Workflows

Click Add Workflow

Under Workflow Type, select Email
Configure the workflow
Fill in the following fields:

Name: A unique name for the workflow (e.g., Sensor Health Alerts)

Description: Optional description for internal context

Email Recipients: Enter one or more email addresses separated by semicolons Example: ops-team@company.com; data.eng@company.com

Click Save to create the workflow
How Email Alerts Work
Once the workflow is active:

It will listen for the configured trigger (i.e., asset status change)

When triggered, it will send a formatted email to all recipients with key information:

Asset or tag name
-
Type and severity of issue
-
Timestamp of detection
